Job Summary

The Sales Operations Supervisor manages a team responsible for all tasks related to supporting and nurturing Life Science to meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals. Critical tasks include (but not limited to): metric management, sales and open orders reporting, global CRM (preferably SalesForce) ownership, and scorecard management. This role is responsible for the supervision of the daily operation to fulfil responsibilities successfully along with supervising a team designated to these tasks. Responsible for developing and overseeing smooth, effective sales process to support the growing LIFE SCIENCE business. The successful candidate will maximize our LIFE SCIENCE market share and sales opportunities by supporting all KPI reporting, global metrics, reporting clean data, maintaining data integrity, global CRM management, and successful pricing analysis.  

Key Duties

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Act as a project owner for the development and enhancement of data reporting tools
  • Daily mentorship and direction of the Sales Operations Team that are dedicated to total support and successful execution for all metrics, reports, online orders portal, and CRM
  • Participate in training as it relates to product lines, systems, corporate account strategies, territory strategies and LIFE SCIENCE strategy.
  • Enhance the sales process so the commercial team is successful in their day-to-day activities
  • Support the sales team with process improvements, successful KPI measurement, tracking analytics relevant to their functional areas
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing departments to refine lead qualification process, analyze and report on the Sales Incentive Plan and ScoreCard performance using dashboard and reporting
  • Enhance sales productivity by enabling the team to work smarter with clean data
  • Manage and propose product pricing on a yearly basis by ensuring all data is successfully logged in XA
  • Assist in the administration of reporting tools, CRM platform, eliciting feedback for enhancements, data validation, and design training plans as needed to better understand and read reported data
  • Assist with on-boarding and training of new sales talent – inside, outside, and senior leadership
  • Partner with Commercial Leadership team to create and maintain sales forecasting models and data
  • Identify, build, and manage additional non-CRM sales tools and systems that enable efficient sales and cross-functional collaboration i.e. sales reports, data integrity.
  • Maintains integrity of data in CRM and all sales reports
  • Makes full use of all company systems such as XA, MasterCONTROL, Salesforce, etc.
  • Ensures team’s work is done effectively, accurately, and on time and is consistent with standard guidelines and SOP requirement

  • Strong analytical experience, reporting, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks by effective prioritization and timely response
  • Experience in tracking KPIs and Scorecards for Commercial team member both inside and outside
  • Must have strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality of extremely sensitive data, records, files, conversations, etc.
  • Strong planning skills.
  • Complete understanding of the selling process; both new sales pipeline and customer journey
  • Self-motivated and able to grasp new concepts quickly.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, integrity, respect for confidentiality, sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. (clear, concise and honest).
  • Willing and able to multi-task.
  • Good analytical and quantitative skills, leveraged by computer skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Must be able to work hours outside the normal work day to support departmental needs (including evenings and weekends) to ensure departmental goals are met

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS required in Life Science or finance related field
  • Strong Analytical skills and storytelling with data
  • >5-year experience in data management
  • Experience with CRM (preferably SFDC), metrics, and sales reports
  • Complete proficiency with Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, as well as Database software and Internet research skills required. MAPICS/INFOR/XA experience a plus.

    • Ability to work on PC including repetitive use of a keyboard and mouse for long periods throughout the course of the work day.
    • Must be able to analyze and concentrate routinely throughout the course of the work day.
    • May be required to sit for long periods of time through the course of the work day.
    • Must be able to adhere to applicable safety practices for the site.
