Job Summary

The Receiving Technician I is responsible for mastering and understanding all aspects of the warehouse (including but not limited to): receiving, meeting safety requirements, monitoring all deliveries and shipments, and ensuring all shipments for goods in-bound and out-bound are packed and received according to IATA guidelines.  

Key Duties

Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items of incoming shipment to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring all proper documentation (CoA’s, Export documents, Invoice, etc.) is included within each shipment
  • Ensure all transactions in MAPICS/XA are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for monitoring inventory levels for all packing materials and the communication to re-order as required
  • Responsible for shipping/receiving analysis as required to drive process improvements
  • Picking, Packing, and Processing all return shipments
  • Post weights, shipping charges, and prepare materials for shipping
  • Responsible for ensuring materials pulled and packed match catalog and lot numbers, package sizes, and quantity
  • Will be responsible for owning the investigation and successful complaint closure for shipping or receiving related errors
  • Will be required to serve as the second sign off on picking lists
  • Will be responsible for using FedEx Ship Station equipment
  • Responsible for ensuring products are packed in proper temperature ranges
  • May be required to work non-standard shifts and weekends to support department needs
  • Responsible for ensuring 5S initiatives are successful in the warehouse
  • Comply with FDA, QSR and ISO regulations as required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical

  • Ability to communicate orally in a clear manner.
  • Able to view and operate a personal computer monitor or laptop screen, sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
  • Able to exert up to seventy-five (75) pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Able to work in fast-paced environment with a high-volume workload and frequent, short deadlines that may require more than a 40-hour work week to meet established deadlines.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma plus 2+ years’ experience in warehousing or administration.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to read and understand procedures, work instructions, product specifications, inspection standards, and sampling charts.
  • Must be able to work in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work inside refrigerators and freezers with the temperature ranging from 2C to -80C.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, and to deploy critical thinking skills to make decisions and solve problems.
  • Experience working with manual and electronic Quality Management Documentation Systems, such as MasterControl™ or similar.
  • Proficient user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and related electronic data management and reporting platforms.
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, and to work quickly and accurately to produce a variety of time-sensitive work products.
