Job Summary

The Operator retains the knowledge of the Assembler job description and performs jobs that require several independent steps and evaluations for completion of duties assigned.  The employee will become demonstrative in the areas of responsibility including all computer programs that pertain to the individual work areas. This individual will require minimal supervision to perform his/her tasks and comply to all c GMP standards, in order meet production schedules, set forth by management.  

 

Pay starts at $18/hr and this is a full time 40 hrs/week M-F 5 am to 1:30 pm. 

Key Duties

Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and operate automated production equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Correctly read and follow detailed production procedures and provide feedback for procedural and process improvements.
  • In addition to the ability to perform routine tasks; develop proficiency in areas of assignment.
  • Independently perform calibrations and routine process monitoring as needed. 
  • Monitor and requisition inventory for the purpose of fulfilling production needs for the required department. 
  • Learn how to troubleshoot all equipment and automation in the respective department with the support of Maintenance and Operations Control and Support.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance of machines in designated work area(s).
  • All assembler key duties.
  • Work independently.
  • Train team members and assist Assemblers.
  • Become proficient in using all computer programs necessary for the required department.Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting with peers in a cross departmental setting.
  • Assist with Operations Control and Support team with investigations and validations as needed. 
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to meet production goals.

Other duties as required:

  • Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs throughout the workday in a multi-location facility.
  • Must have the ability to inspect, analyze and concentrate throughout the course of the work shift.
  • Must be able to problem solve routinely throughout the course of the work shift.
  • Must have fine manual dexterity to ensure precise assembly of medical devices.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 25 pounds of supplies or finished product throughout the work shift.
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods, stoop, reach, bend, push and pull carts and hand jacks throughout the course of the work shift.
  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (lab coat, safety glasses, hair coverings, latex or nitrile gloves)
  • Must be able to identify and differentiate color and color changes on diagnostic devices or device components.
  • Must be able to read, navigate, and operate controls systems screens and written documents throughout the course of the workday.
  • Must be able to detect audible and or visual alarms.

Qualifications

Minimum Education or Equivalent Experience Required/Preferred:

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• A minimum of 2 years prior manufacturing and/or assembly experience required.
• Prior experience in an FDA regulated production environment preferred.

• All assembler skills.
• Proficiently demonstrate good documentation practices.
• Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, organized and able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate interpersonal, organizational, comprehension, written and oral communications skills and the ability to lead others.
• Demonstrate problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Documented Master Control training.
• Documented training for setup and operation of equipment (as assigned by supervisor).
• Documented “Qualified trainer course.”
• Documented “Document record reviewer training.”
• Must be able to demonstrate/ be competent in multiple skills in 3 total departments, listed within the Job Specific responsibilities above, through cross-training over several departments as instructed by management.
