Job Summary

The position will involve the running of routine, molecular biology-based assays in the Quality Control department. The role involves testing of product before released for sale by following standardizes procedures to ensure quality of new product. The role is predominately laboratory based with potentially significant amount of routine paperwork, such as report writing and archiving.

Occasionally there might be some work not directly linked to product Quality Control such as stock organization, archiving of samples
, special testing, supporting the validation team in performing validations as required.

Key Duties

  • Performing quality control, in-process control, and special QC testing, including troubleshooting, of Meridan’s products.
  • Assessment of testing results and confirmation with acceptance criteria.
  • Preparation of QC reports and other documents related to quality control.
  • Record keeping according to corresponding SOPs.
  • Writing and up-dating of required documents for quality control of Meridian’s product.
  • Preparation of reagents and solutions required for laboratory procedures.
  • Participation in transfer of new and revised analytical procedures.
  • Supporting validation and long-term stability programs.
  • Supporting procedure troubleshooting when required.
  • Supporting routine equipment maintenance and calibration required for the equipment used in QC.
  • Supporting laboratory maintenance and contribute to the general laboratory organization.
  • Supporting administration of consumables, raw materials and components for the QC department.
  • Supporting as a team player continuous improvement program.
  • Represent and promote the company’s vision, mission, and values through daily actions and decision-making.
  • Hand on experience and strong knowledge on qPCR, end point PCR assays, and isothermal amplification with various equipment
  • Good knowledge of analytical methods related to molecular biology products and practical experience of the same
  • Experience in safe handling of chemicals and reagents related to PCR
  • Good organizational skills with a methodical approach to work
  • Ability to interact effectively with an interdisciplinary group on various levels.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to prioritize, organize workloads and meet task deadlines
  • Sound working knowledge in a controlled environment, experience in working under ISO 13485 would be of advantage
  • Very good command of written and spoken English. German would be of advantage.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Master in Molecular Biology or equivalent in Life Science.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience
